Putting a starter and battery on a Firefly would likely take it out of Part 103.

How illeage is an aircraft that is a pound or two above a 103 limit?

Excellent observation Rick.

The object not moving is very common on a horizontal plane. If an object doesnt move you had better turn left or right. Works on planes, ships, cars, etc.

I plan to increase the up elevator cable size by 1/32" to a 1/8.

My Kolb is a Mk III extra. The newer ones have a 1/8 which is suspose to reduce stretch.

Yep it was hijacked a bit, but all was relevant.
John Hauk made a good suggestion about spark plug gap. Could be something that you could also check.
