I used the twist to open type of drain cock instead of the very soft spring loaded one that was on my 701 when I got it. Just make sure there is no drip on the valve before you open the door. ...

Craig, I found a guy on Ebay that sells all different sizes and pressures and he is very reasonable.
The ones I used have 20lbs of pressure if memory serves me well and were about 12" overall ...

Dan, I had the same problem with mine. I ended up switching to the style that twist to lock open or you just push up on the T to get a sample of fuel. I purchased mine thru Aircraft Spruce.
