I fly my 18T, is all the South African sportman's maneuvers.

Spin, Stall turn, loop and Aileron roll. I just do not link them, due to my own capabilities.....Yakbaas links them for the sequence and ...

Here in South Africa, we do not get the Phillips Brand.

There is the Mobil Multigrade 20W 50, that comes from he USA.

Then we get the mono grades SAE 50 and 60

When bedding the rings is it really necessary for straight oil?

Well the aircraft is certified to do it, so we are allowed to do it....I am sure even you!!!

My hassle is the what does it do to the characteristics......and Richard Goode has given us clue.....

Well as an update I would like post the following.

Due to a lot of support from friends and a very good engineer we managed to replace the bent rod, on #5

I use Castrol Aviator AD 120 in my M14P.

I have heard that the mono grade oils are not being made any more, and it seems all mono grade oils will be replaced by multi grade oils ...

Hi there Larry, point taken, but the less oil you have the less is the chance for the LOCK.

I am not sure and hopefully there is wisdom on this list that can answer the question:

I can take 3 days for a Hydraulic lock to form......That translates into a lot fun flying, but a huge fuel bill.... Sad

As Dennis pointed out No. 4 is the master rod. If it is bent then
you have a very serious problem and it will not be fixed in the field.
You are correct that both retaining rings need to be remove ...
