A number of years ago when I built a Challenger II, I painted all the
metal, fiberglass, and PVC parts just that way. Shoot 2-part epoxy
primer and then the polytone while the epoxy was still tac ...

The majority of gyroplanes have fixed pitch, 2-bladed rotor systems and
yes, it's a rotary wing system. The blades are typically VERY strongly
connected to the center hub bar and blade departures ...

Actually what I was getting at was that the turbine reacted according to
the laws governing a gyroscope - that is, a gyro will react 90 degrees
to the force applied to it. The departing blade lef ...

The blade that hit the pylon was not the first blade to depart. It's
really interesting in slow motion. The 1st blade departs and is hit by
the 2nd blade. At the same time, the whole thing nods ...

Hmm.. it pulled up a Danish windmill destroying itself in a storm.
Impressive video - especially when you get the scale of the windmill.

The 2si 460 F35 is a 2-stroke 35 hp engine made by 2-Stroke International.  They came on the scene a few years ago trying to compete with Rotax.  They're currently owned by AMW/Cuyuna.  Whether justif ...

I've never done any fiberglass work, but when I built my first plane, I'd never done any fabric work.  It'll just be a learning curve. I plan to go whole hog on this one.  A Dynon D-100 EFIS, EMS-120 ...

Thanks Dave. This seems to be the preferred method. I went to the Skysport
website and they had an installation procedure for just this method.

This certainly makes sense, since the RK-400 clutch is set to disengage at
about 2500 rpm. I'm guessing that with older ones, the springs that hold the
slipper shoes back at low rpm get tired and s ...

Has anyone installed capacitance fuel probes in Kitfox tanks? If so, how was
this executed? Looks a tad challenging since the top of the tank makes up the
top of the wing.

In the case of the RK-400 clutch, the speed of the prop turning has no bearing on the engagement of the clutch.  It is the engine speed that determines when the clutch engages/disengages. In a descen ...

CPS has AV-2. It is really the cleanest burning stuff that I've run across.
CPS has it in 5 gallon buckets which is quite economical.
