It’s 20 knots faster than a CJ and 40 knots faster than a Yak 52.
It has American military heritage (and was used by numerous other countries).
Cockpit’s are much more comfortable and roomy. ... |

Perhaps there could be some blanking or turbulent air at high AOA for spades on top of the aileron? Spades on bottom may also be more effective due to the hinge point (longer lever arm?).

You can but a 225 hp T-34 in that range but not a big engine 34 (285 - 310 hp).
The 225 hp T-34 is equivalent performance to the 285 hp CJ-6.
