Hi Ryan, I converted my Model III to a HKS in 2006 and now have 460+ hrs flying it. Converting to the HKS was the best money I spent on the Kitfox to date, the engine starts instantly runs flawlessly ... |

I thought it looked like the Motavia engine and yep they were trying to get the engine going about 15 yrs ago and they had lots of customers PO'd. I guess a plus it the engine mount would sure make it ... |

Hi Chris, have you checked that your carbs are in synchronized, on the Bing 54's it easy just remove the airfilters and measure each slide at idle, 1/4 1/2 3/4 and full throttle if both are the same ... |

Yea, I had one on a 503 and used one on the 582 it is now in use with the HKS I feel they help some but will not replace doing a good balance job on the prop to start with. |

It generally works best to bleed/fill from the bottom up. I use a pump oil can with a 6" vinyl hose push it on the pump oil can slip over the wheel brake bleeder and pump fluid in till no air com ... |

Hi the Cont. 0-200 would make an excellent powerplant in a Kitfox 5 and up, the great thing about the 0-200 is no liquid cooling Dual ignition, an engine designed for aircraft not a auto engine.

I believe t5hat the spar and strut attach carry thoughs are heavier duty also and the cabin maybe a 1 or so wider. |

Hi Ed, the mechanical synro of the Bing 54 carbs works very well, and can be do with the engine NOT running, just remove the air filters and check that both carbs start to open at the same time then ... |

Cooling of the HKS is not a problem as posted the engine cyl heads are oil cooled, in 300+ hrs I've never had a cooling problem, in fact I can now fly in much hotter temps than I could with the Rotax ... |
