FYI - be aware that the pitot heater has a simple transistor circuit that only drives the green 'on' lamps (see attached diagram) when the heater is consuming power i.e. it monitors that the heater ... |

If the points are burned out and the performance deprecated then possibly the internal capacitor (or more likely its connections) across the points has failed; hence the arcing and lack of out ... |

The carburettor heat scoop directs external ram air into the carburettor and there is a good reason why this heat is sourced from cylinder heads and not the exhaust system.

Hi Andrew,
Like Mark I also fitted the original 'thermo(stat)-(safety)valve' back into my -52 in 2010 and it's reduced the engine warm-up time and more importantly got the oil temps into the green ... |
