Interesting information. The location of failure is for sure a weak spot on the wing. I noted this weakness before my plane even flew. I always thought it odd that such a large hole would be placed ...

Spark plug gap is a big deal on Jabiru engines for cold starting. Keep them gapped at .22. If they get above about .26 you will have cold starting problems.

I use iridium spark plugs (NGK DR9EIX) ...

Mark,

I was planning to mount the TBI so the slide goes up and down up being open, down being closed. I was hoping this would eliminate left to right distribution issues.

Which way did you moun ...

Hello Mark,

My 601 XL with a Jabiru 3300 and the carbon-fiber Sensenich prop is good for an honest 140 MPH. It takes a minute or so to reach that speed. I don’t do this anymore because it’s t ...

Good point Buz.

I dont run my engine hard. RPM are often around 2,500. I fly at about 100 MPH so that's a quart about every 4.5 hours.

My plane is a Zenair zodiac XL N601WF.

By the way, n ...
