I installed a Hac man mixture control on my 3300 Jabiru powered Lightning. I love it!! Only used at altitude ( 8000+ ) It's good for a 1 GPH reduction in fuel usage.

Check out the Hacman mixture control from Green Sky adventures Inc. I installed one on my 3300 powered Lightning and it runs much better at altitude. At 9500ft I use 4 1/2 GPH at 2900 RPM.

I think the ignition coil is grounded on one side and you are reading through the coil to ground.
