Heat muff covers are easily removable, allowing inspection of the underlying exhaust structure for cracks. Last 18 - 24 inches of exhaust system can be visuallized with borescope. |

I had mine stripped and powder coated with a flat black "crackle" finish. Came out great. Pretty cheap too. |

I had the same problem, defied all recommended techniques. I finally drilled out the old broken off stud. I then tapped oversize to 5/16 and used a bolt. A more elegant solution might be a helicoil. |
