the problem with some low voltage monitors in the past was they let you use up a lot of lipo reserve power as they were set too low.you are right, you should be alerted as soon as alternator goes off ... |

I admit adding a chip detector is a stretch but I think a temp probe could be valuable. You are not looking for absolute temp but a trend compared to engine oil temp.
