Now I would like to install a Jab engine myself... Has anyone got the drawings available in electronic f ...

Well, looking at the Corvair pages at least answered some questions:

Above, the first Corvair/Zenith mount on our own 601 XL in 2003. In the decade since, we have made more than 250 of them for 601 ...

Oops - sorry guys - I was not clear.

I have a few engine options available, but I am tired of building, so I am trying to find ready built engine mounts and cowls.

I understand that a lot of the ...

Hi all,

I need to try a new engine on my HDS. Does anybody know which of the zenith engine mounts/firewalls are compatible with the HDS?

Thanks,

I was wondering if anybody has any better plans for tensioning the wing skin covers? The plans design just seems rather inelegant.

I have been trying to figure out a camming system that can work w ...

The battery is mounted around 12" from the starter, and 20" from the panel. All 'heavy' current wires are fairly short.

I really like the idea of making it as simple as possible. Added ...

Where does the starter current go?..Usually it goes through the master contactor..You won't be sending that kind of current through a normal toggle switch..well more than once anyway...Smile

After all the great info and advice I got on the fuses, I thought I would try asking about contacters too Wink .

The aircraft manufacturer, and the engine manual both give a wiring diagram that ...

Thanks for all the info.

I will try AutoZone locally on Friday. If that doesn't work, I will order from one of the on-line shops.

You guys in the USA really have it all!

Thanks,
Justin

I have been looking at all the various engine conversions out there. The BMW is certainly one of the nicest. Very good power to weight ratio, and (at least the oil heads) fairly easy to cool.

I am a bit worried about that. My empty weight should be well under 300lbs though. Also, the VP prop will allow me to climb at max continuous RPM (3400), so it will climb a lot better than a stock 8 ...

I doubt there are any HDSs with the 912 seeing those numbers. That
said, the HDS is capable of decent speeds when the prop is pitched long,
it has the proper fairings and the plane is ...

Justin,
I'd like to chime in again. I failed to make the point that the HD has
considerably more lift than the HDS. Though the HDS has a higher speed,
the HDS climb cannot begin to keep up with ...
