The battery is mounted around 12" from the starter, and 20" from the panel. All 'heavy' current wires are fairly short.

Where does the starter current go?..Usually it goes through the master contactor..You won't be sending that kind of current through a normal toggle switch..well more than once anyway...

I have been looking at all the various engine conversions out there. The BMW is certainly one of the nicest. Very good power to weight ratio, and (at least the oil heads) fairly easy to cool.

I am a bit worried about that. My empty weight should be well under 300lbs though. Also, the VP prop will allow me to climb at max continuous RPM (3400), so it will climb a lot better than a stock 8 ... |

I doubt there are any HDSs with the 912 seeing those numbers. That
said, the HDS is capable of decent speeds when the prop is pitched long,
