IIRC, Mark Townsend mentioned this as one of the mods to make for a bigger guy to fly the 701 (the others being lowering the seat pan and moving the rudder pedals forward).

.016 weighs .225 lbs per square foot according to Wicks Aircraft.
.020 weighs .282 lbs per square foot according to Wicks Aircraft.

Reminds me of a story a guy on one of the aviation podcasts (uncontrolled airspace) mentioned. He got his pilot's certificate at 17, so he could rent an airplane, but couldn't rent a car. |
