Several years ago my gap seal with the zipper style fabric ripped so I decided to fly without one. I remember (vaguely) my take off speed increased from 30 to 42. My stall speed increased to about 4 ... |

This is how I did it. The panel is attached to a rubber hose at the bottom. The top rests against the nose cone. This allows the nose cone off by itself. Not attached to the panel at all. Yes you lo ... |

I tried to find the boring part but was unable. I was surprised at the amount of tailwheeel flutter at 3:19. I guess that's why we use springs. |

Less pitch will give more RPM but less thrust so that may be the way to go.
There is no shortage of thrust, that's for sure!
I need to go back and review to see if less pitch increases EGT ... |

It all depends on what size prop you have. And the drag of your craft.
I find 4800rpms to be just about the hot spot for my EGTs also. 4600-4800. I try to stay out of that range. I usually cruise ... |

If I remember correctly the cold air throws off the EGT reading. So if it's 30degrees colder than 75F (egt manufacturer calibration temp) your gauge will show 30degrees higher.
Also the cold air ... |

My thoughts about adding springs.
Cons:
More weight.
More stuff to break. Kind of defeats the purpose of these in the first place.
May let the rudder flutter with nothing you can do expect ... |

Hmmm. Possibly there is a button cell in there. Time to crack open the owner's manual. Maybe I should just ride it more! Nothing I like more than to ride to the airport and go flying.
Good times. |
