Thought of using an Arduino and heavy duty RC servo to create an electric elevator trim for the firefly but never did it. It would be a simple matter though with no gyro required. A pot or momentary ...

I've got to second the lack of the gap seal in the center section of the wing. It may not affect the ground handling much but would certainly not help in the air. I've read a couple of posts which in ...

Back when I was building my firefly, I thought of installing electric trim for an elevator tab. I did some research on RC servos and wind loads. I took worst case scenarios for a trim tab at 90 degree ...

I've added the page from the 447 operating manual that contains the nominal operating temps for the 447. 1200 Deg EGT is max. I've set my Grand Rapids unit to reflect that as Red Line. I normally see ...

I'm running a 447 on my firefly with a 60 inch IVO prop. 6500 WOT is by the book and typically 200 RPM less static on the ground would yield whatever WOT setting you are looking for. That being said, ...

My Rotax 447 install manual calls for a capacitor across the regulator a minimum of 2000 uf. A greater value is certainly better but the greater the value the larger the physical size. The mu ...

Here's a link to an MGL document that looks like it would apply to most installs that addresses radio/antenna/intercom issues. Since I don't trailer my Airplane and keep it hangared, I opted for a dif ...

According to my manual for an EIS 2000, tach setting for Rotax CDI engines is 6. Rotax 912 requires a setting of 1. Most non CDI engines require a setting of 2. Hope this helps.
