You have to buy the complete set. It makes a big difference over the Cleveland setup. I recommend it.

As I understand it, yes it changes the polarity in the sense that if it gets positive on pin 11 and negative on 12 then it will output positive on 13 an negative on 14 and vice versa.

I don't know how much the D-rings weigh, but I bet these are much lighter. They are made from extruded aluminum hinge. Plus they have a little lip so they are easy flip up with your finger.
