Hi all...
A friend experienced a bad carb fire the other day in a Yak-52 (resulting from finger trouble unfortunately). He has cooked some oil and fuel lines plus associated electrical wiring in the lower area of the engine. In addition, the engine mount has been singed to some degree (probably minor)...
Can anyone give me any advice on what else should be checked...? e.g. carb diaphrams etc etc.

regards, Jay McIntyre

Other things that come to mind and should be inspected, repaired, overhauled or replaced are: engine mount rubbers; carburetor (recommend an overhaul); fuel pump should be disassembled and an overhaul kit installed (it has a rubber diaphragm); intake gland nut rubber seals; wiring harness wires; leather covered baffling to cowling seals; exhaust clamps if they are the original steel clamps; tach-generator; compressor filter. If I think of anything else, I'll post it.
