Has any one ever tried this? It would seem like a good way to make sure the
tanks don't move and rub. There is the stuff for doors and windows. It
does not expand. Put some in between the tank and ribs and the spar. The
only concern would be some kind of a corrosive effect on the aluminum.

Before you use spray foam, I'd recommend you search the archives.

A member used it under some flashing. The problem was that spray foam doesn't stop expanding for quite a while. The flashing didn't stay in the shape it was supposed to.

Good idea, but if you use it, I'd recommend you experiment with it first.

Kevin Kinney

I don't think the foam itself would be corrosive, but moisture will get
trapped between the foam/aluminum sandwich. THAT will cause some corrosion
problems.

The foam would also be susceptable to being washed away with any fuel spills
that might seep in when you over-fill the tank or take off with topped off
tanks.
Better stick with the cork.
