Is there any issues with regards to flight performance when the Wing gap seal is not used?

If you mean the gap seal over your head (between the wings ) then DO NOT fly without that. I tried that on my Firestar and the stall speed went up to about 43mph (normally 30) and the max airspeed I could get with a 377 was about 53mph (normally 65). Not much room in there to play with.
Do not do it.
