All-
Has this happened to you?
I stopped at the local scrapyard and found 3- 4' pieces of 4" angle iron. Hey, I can build a 4' "Dave's Brake"! A little more scrounging and I found a chunk of square tubing and some 1-1/4" angle iron. $10 for the lot.
Got home and ordered 3' of 2" hinge from ACS. $6.60 + shipping. Gonna make out like a bandit!
Spent 1/2 hr changing from an aluminum to a steel band saw blade and changed the speed via V belts. Tried to cut the little angle iron (All the big stuff is already cut to size) and the blade jumps off. Repeatedly. We're up to an hour's time spent. I take a close look at the blade and 1" of teeth are missing. I'm thinking the weekend is ruined, because I'm not going to run out and buy another blade.
I turn all the lights off in the garanger and am walking through the regular garage and happened to notice my hacksaw among my auto tools. Sure as shit- "I am not smarter than a third-worlder!" Made the two cuts in 10 minutes.
Uh, I think I'm getting a little spoiled.
