Hi ALL, I have a small question and would love to hear your advice....on my Kitfox 4 I also have the 2 leaf spring, and am considering change to the newer 3 spring,I have had no prblems yet with a tt of 82hrs,but after listening to yall I might down the road.......Do I need to do another weight&balance when I change out from a 2 leaf to a 3 leaf tail spring?

I know this might be a stupid question, but when I added my landing lights my IA made me do another W&B,

Thanks Mark....N61AC

I wouldn't think you'd have to do another W&B, just calculate where
the additional weight is going (the arm) and figure it in. Same for
the landing lights, I would think...but I've been wrong before.

Simple math Mark, but yes I would make another sheet. If many changes are
made or you are unsure of the cog then I would reweigh. Ron NB Ore

This far North we have to do another W&B if the weight of the aircraft has changed by more than 10% since the last W&B. Smaller changes can be documented with an amendment to the W&B. you would still have the paper work but don't have to go get scales and level wings etc. etc.. Check with your AI. I'm pretty sure there is a similar procedure south of the lakes.
