I once tried to order on-line a small gas-charged strut to hold the front baggage door of my RV-8 open. Soon after I placed the order I got a call from the company. They noticed my address was on Aviation Lane and wondered if this was an airport and was the gas strut to be used on an airplane? I answered in the affirmative before giving it enough thought and they promptly declined to fill my order! I tried to explain the experimental nature of my project but that was beyond their comprehension.

Might also want to use a different email address. Sportav8r kinda gives
it away.

One other thing, when dealing with a non-aviation company, never tell them
their product will be used on an airplane, you're building a hot rod, boat,
