I returned yesterday morning from MV and got some photos sorted out and put on my website for anyone interested.  The flying shots are not as good as they used to be in the Firefly, but I got a few decent shots after cropping reflections or window debris.

http://jhefner.photosite.com/MonumentValley2007/  After you get to the photos, click on view slideshow button.  Those on dial-up shouldn't try the slideshow... just look at the small photos this link.  If you click on a small one it will put it in the middle and make it bigger.



We had a real good turnout this year, with several new people attending, which was great.  Think I counted 18 planes, with lots of Kolbs this year.   John W would know how many people attended since he was taking roll. Dave Rains set a new record for giving local Navajo kids rides... way to go Dave!  The new paved runway, thanks to Red Bull, is really nice, but some still favor the dirt, which is more forgiving with the flaky x-winds you frequently encounter in that area.  They even have a cell tower now and most people's cell phones worked there.... a first!

Pat Ladd and his wife certainly came the farthest to this years event and it was nice meeting both of them.

I'm sure you will hear/see lots more from others that attended.  

Looking forward to MV#6 already...

I forgot to mention that my spam-can C150 and I got a memorable Kolber send-off that had me laughing so hard I had to really concentrate after lift-off.... without getting into too much detail, I'll put it this way... the moon was shining bright that morning...   Thanks guys.... you cracked me up.... literally!!!!

Ellery, Bill,

I'm pleased that you enjoyed the photos.  I wish all of you could experience this (flying around the monuments) one time... it's an incredible experience!  We that are able to attend are very fortunate indeed so I'm happy to share my photos each year with all those that can't make it. 

I hope more new folks can make it each year.  It is something you will never forget!... it's surreal to be flying around such beauty.  I never get tired of it.
