Hi
Just installing the top rudder bracket on my XL 6b2 -71but have just noticed that there is no shim under the bracket between the 2 top rear Longerons. Does it just get riveted onto them and the top triangle rear panel 6b3-6?
There is a 40 thou gap should this also have a shim just like the bottom hing between the longerons?

I just did mine a couple months ago - I just left the gap. As it is pretty narrow at that point, I didn't even give it a thought.

Chris,
I do not like shanked rivets, which you have without a shim for the center rivet. I put a shim in - In fact, I believe I made it a working shim (doubler) by extending the shim and tying the shim down with two additional rivets into the 6B3-6. By tying in the shim, you minimize bending loading of the aft center rivet.
