I too have been wondering what gear other than the Grove Alum. Gear is
available. There is a picture on the Zenith 601XL page of a taildragger
601 and it clearly does not have the bent aluminum gear on it. I wonder
what it is and where it came from.

This is one of the European XLs built (or kit provided) by CZAW. I have similar gear legs myself (although for the 3-gear-config). The attachment of the gear is different to the original ZAC, so a refitting of the composite gear legs is probably not feasible.
