Did any Zenith's compete in this years competition?  I saw Bill Wilcox took first  in last years competition...

I am embarrassed!  I got bit by the rules committee at the fly-in and did

not really complete.  I did not think anyone noticed.  They left the

distance markings on the tarmac so I will go out one of these evenings and

measure my landing and take off distance with and without slats like I

wanted to.



They brought up a "carbon cub" this year.  Every non-structural piece was

made out of carbon fiber.  It was light and had a  220 hp IO-360 engine.  It

got off in less than the length of it's fuselage.  I don't remember the

exact number but it was 17' or so.  Can you imagine a cub taking off in 21'

and getting second place?
