OK, I have one.

An attractive young lady was visiting the control tower of a small airfield, when a very forward young controller asked her if she liked airplanes. She said yes, but admitted she didn’t know much about them.

“I have my own plane” he said braggingly.
She: “Oh really, what kind”
He: “See that very large plane over there”
She: “Yes”
“Well that’s just a C130, I have a C150”

Blonde officer replies its the square thing with your picture on it.

Blonde lady pulls out a square make up mirrror, in see her own reflection , and hands it to the blonde officer waiting impatiently.

Cop looks at it and says " Oh, hear is your license back, you can go now, i did'nt know you were an police officer."

All of us have different tastes in jokes, I did not think it was all that funny either, but the posting of a occasional joke never hurt anyone, lighten up Larry.

I think ya'll are missing the point. I like a joke as well as anyone.
However, having been on this list for several years I know how these things
get started, Before you know it every other post will be a joke. But as
you saw someone posted a joke and immediately some one else said "I got
one". I really don't want my list e-mail to be filled with jokes every day,
I get enough already. I was just trying to nip it in the bud before it got
out of hand. So, excuse me for wanting this list to be informative and
educational. If it starts filling up with jokes more and more people will
drop out or only the jokesters will be left. There are plenty of places to
go look at jokes and this list is not supposed to be one of them. That's
all I was saying.

Actually what Rick said about putting a Hawg engine in an airplane I took as
an insult and certainly not called for. Larry

I see nothing wrong with putting a "hawg" engine in an aircraft
providing it's enough power and has been modified properly. If "hawg" means
a motorcycle, they are more suited to aircraft than an automobile engine is.
If you look at a Pratt & Whitney radial aircraft engine and then look at one
of the Harley-Davis motorcycle engines you will see about 1/4th of a radial
engine.
Who ever said that jokes have no place on the Zenith net, they are
right. I like a good joke myself and have sent one to a member of this net
but it was direct to him and not on the net. The exchange of ideas &
corrective measures for problems we all experence with out experemental
aircraft are of high value and the net should be restricted to that and that
alone.

Dang...and here all along I thought the guys on the RV-10 list were nasty towards each other. The following is a direct quote:
"The purpose of the Rocket-List is to provide a forum of discussion for things related to this particular discussion group. The List's goals are to serve as an information resource to its members; to deliver high-quality content; to provide moral support; to foster camaraderie among its members; and to support safe operation. Reaching these goals requires the participation and cooperation of each and every member of the List."
Maybe we on the Rocket (RV & SoCal RV) list really do like each other and rib each and poke fun all time BUT it forms "CAMARDERIE". And that a posting of 'Lunch At Big Bear' on the RV list will have 30 RV's show up with only a few days notice. KABONG DO NOT ARCHIVE

What the hell is the matter with you people! You get insulted because
someone doesn't like your choice of engine. Who gives a shit! Use what you
like and enjoy flying, we are pilots first, how we get there is not
important just as long as we fly safe. When you get together as pilots it
should be fun regardless of what you are flying or what is powering it.
Sometimes it is hard to believe how easily people can be offended.

I'm with Clyde - this has turned into the dumbest frickin' thread ever. It started with jokes. Personally, I found them all funny and even passed a couple of them along at my EAA meeting tonight. Does it clog your inbox - tough shit. Hit delete. I sure as hell wasn't interested in the green/red scotchbrite thread. To many people this is a community of like-minded folks - a community interacts in lots of ways, including joking. My office is certainly not in the business of joking, but people joke at the office. Whether you personally think the joke is funny or not doesn't matter - everyone has a different sense of humor.

Which leads me to the second point. Larry - what the hell is wrong with you? Neither your engine nor your fine craftsmanship was not insulted. I personally think "HawgAir" is quite funny, too. It has nothing to do with the quality of the engine - it just sounds funny. The only way you could take insult in the comment that was made is if you were looking for it - I am 100% sure than insult was not intended.

Recently this group has gotten its panties in a twist over the dumbest things. I personally think it reflects on the current state of the world in general - everyone wants to be insulted and pissed off about something. Instead, how about we all just try to get along?

I went to “Corvair Day” at the Zenith factory in Mexico, Mo last year. There was a guy there building a LongEZ. When his family realized that was the plane that John Denver had died in they all started to give him a lot of grief. Then he decided to put a Corvair engine on it. One of his family members said “you mean the Ralph Nader engine?” His reply was, “Yes, I’m putting a Ralph Nader engine on a John Denver plane!”

NOW THAT’S FUNNY!

Sorry to keep this thread going but…

A commercial airline passenger asks the pilot how often their planes crash and he says, "Just once."

And Clyde or I could have said the same thing - so what! Again, though, such comments are not helpful - nor do they advance the community of which you are a part. In fact, I didn't say it because I have no interest in you leaving the list. I do have an interest in you chilling out, not taking someone to task for posting an aviation related joke, and not taking offense where none is intended.

If it's the same guy, I bought a HawgAir t-shirt from him at the 2004 OSH, he was a great guy & answered all my questions. Having ridden Hogs (H-D) since 1964 it was great that someone had a better idea.
