Long time lurker, first time poster...please be gentle!!

For those of you who don't know me, I've been fascinated with Eastern
Bloc aircraft for a few years now thanks to the Selbys. Because of the
"Jim's", I've been introduced and welcomed by most of the Yak and
Nanchang owners around the Western half of the U.S. and have had the
fortune of flying with and photographing many of you.

Once again, Barry Hancock and the gang allowed me free reign at All Red
Star VI last month in Porterville, CA. Batman, Blitz, Ray O'Neal,
George Wilen, Doc Sugden and Cujo allowed me to fly with them to better
archive the event and I'm happy to say a full blown book is has become
the result. Featuring 120 images on 80 pages, the book is an oversized
11x13 hardbound format with full color photography along with its own
dust jacket. I'll be the first to admit the book is a bit pricey, but
it was the only solution available without going through a publisher
with a minimum 500 copy print run. After speaking to numerous
professional photographers, this site was chosen unanimously for its
quality.

Hopefully I'm not stealing RPA's thunder (Sorry Potus, Phil!), but for a
larger preview of images from ARS VI as well as some featured in the
book, you can also look here:
http://www.tvrphotography.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=180

Also, congrats to Arnie Evdokimo in his L-39ZA. His aircraft above the
clouds at ARS VI will be featured as the cover shot for EAA's Warbird
Magazine while the four-ship lead by B-Dog will be on the back cover.
Meanwhile, talks are continuing with Air & Space Smithsonian Magazine to
feature additional images from ARS VI in their two-page Sightings section.

Many thanks for allowing me to work with you all and learn more about
the Yak n' Chang community. If you have any questions about the book,
please don't hesitate to ask. I've already ordered a copy which takes
about two weeks for delivery and can confirm or bash the
quality...though I'm optimistic! It was great working with you all and
I hope to come back again next year!

Kind regards,
Tyson V. Rininger

Tyson,

Thanks for the post. Your photos are "Grade A", "Prime", and "Choice" and
RPA approved. You deserve all the recognition you get. Now come to the East
Coast!

Please save some choice shots for Red Alert!

Phil "Shortbus" Cogan

You'll be seeing Tyson's work on the cover of the Summer 07 issue of Red
Alert.

Nice shots Tyson!!! I will even admit those T-34 interloper shots were pretty cool! What I am disappointed about is that with more than a couple of -50's there, no form shots? No shots! What gives guys?

Nice work...as always!

Possibly because there were more CJs than Yaks at ARS. Not unusual.

Guess that is the reason we have more YAKs than CJ’s at Red Air. Just more of them in the region.
Great photos! Still working my way thru the teasers!

I am not disappointed at the photogrpaher..always nice work and does a nice job of capturing these cool airplanes. I can guess where the -50 boys were!

The good lord willing I will be there next year....in my airplane having flown it from my new home west of Phoenix.

Thanks for all your hard work, Tyson. This book is a great touch! At
the 10 year we will do a "best of collection"....hopefully they will be
filled with you're shots every year! You are truly very gifted and
we're privileged to have you as part of our gang!

Gang, I sure hope we will all support his effort and dedication to our
community. This kind of work can only do very positive things for the
stature of our community and our aircraft!

I look forward to receiving my copy!

Barry
