I just got an email from Stormy. We're ON! Arrive between 10 and noon.
I'll be there about 10:45.

I don't understand the problem with my ISP--- I sent a message to all the related RV lists at 7:25 tis am and it still hasn't appeared on any of the lists as far as I can tell.
We're on, but the wx isn't clearing here as quickly as I had hoped. It's MVFR in the valley right now.

Re: MVFR... If the minimun isn't good enough, it wouldn't be the minimum. See you soon.

Cappy and Dale made it to 25 miles east of ROA and turned back due to dark skies low clouds and poor visibilities. We probably could have made it in but were concerned about making it out again and TS to the west.
Oh well!

Sometimes one must do what one feels one must do.
Cappy as you know, I was looking at that beginning to happen along with the cloud cover increasing and decided to "bail out". I was cleared off from Ken who proceeded and I made a stop at KLKR. Ceilings had already lowered by the time we all left KLKR.
Hope everyone has a great time and makes it back OK as it looks like something is brewing between here and there.

James, Terry and I began the trek two times and turned around. Once due to cloud cover and few holes, second at the VA NC line where Dale and Cappy PIREPed us with IFR conditions so again back we went.

A few of us made it. The weather improved for the trip down the
river and we had a very nice time. Stormy is a great host and has a
beautiful place(and the BBQ was very good). Five RVs and a Husky were
there. The trip back was a little dicey, but with a little effort and
wx info from RVs with 496s, we made it and got to see several rainbows
up close.

We made it home after a 2-hour pit stop at MWK to wait out the storms.
Thank you Stormy and Miriam for the hospitality. We had a wonderful time.
