Guys,
Carl Hayes can do hoses, air, oil and fuel for the 50, 52 and others
I can do air hoses for Yak 50, and 52, etc., but not oil and fuel on the 52 as they are slightly different than the CJ6.
I can do air, fuel and oil for the CJ6
Always Yakin,
Doug

If we can, we need to keep all sourcing for parts and support within our borders. If we support folks like Doug, Jill and Carl, Dennis...then we may make the point to those overseas that we can and will figure out a way to support these airplanes without paying their outrageous prices. (I am speaking of the original source for these parts, not our friends in the UK)

Lets keep it in the US!

I am in SA, and we don't have the benefit of a true experimental category.
I would therefore prefer factory original parts, or at least made up ready
to use parts.

Amen to what Tim says. I don't know what's going on in Romania, but the price increases have been absurd. As an example, the strut fill adapter necessary to service the struts with nitrogen has seen a three-fold increase in price over the past three years. The old price of $150 for this very simple part was high but bearable. The present price of $495 (if you can find one) will motivate many to find an alternate solution.

Is this the strut valve that you're speaking of that is now $495?

That's the one.
Gesoco an adapter on their website for a much more reasonable $75.00, although it does not have a valve: http://www.gesoco.com/parts/strutfiller/strutfiller.html

(I believe the 52 is the same as the CJ)
I adapted a Schraeder stem to the filler valve cap on my
CJ, works fine, just open the internal valve first with a tool made from a
small screwdrive notched in the center to fit.

Group,

The problem that I see with the Romanian parts, is that they
want American/European prices, but dont stock the parts for
AOG conditions. I beleive that they operate on the therory
of, wait till we get X orders (lets say X-12). Then they
build 15 parts, deliver 12 and put 3 on the shelf. When
those sell, they will wait for anouther 12 orders befor they
build new parts. The big problem is that it may take 3-4
years to get 12 orders.

I am sure that most of us would pay fair prices for parts
when our aircraft are grounded and needed parts. But we will
need to get our parts in a reasonable time frame.

Unfortunatly the Romainians are still operating on the
communist theory of buisness, and not on the free market
theory. With the communist theory you do not care about the
customer, They will always buy from you. With free market,
you must provide the product at a fair price and on time or
the customer will find a new supplier.

We are already seeing the free market theory at work (M-14,
Doug, and Bill) are starting to manufacture parts here in
the US. As the Romanian parts go up in price, and take
longer to get, this trend will continue to grow.

Within the next two months, my aircraft wil be in the hanger
as I start a total ground up restoration (hope to roll out
summer 0Cool. I will most likley be manufacturing most new
parts needed myself.

I am currently looking at manufacturing rebuild kits for the
nose gear (new bushings, with instructions) and offering an
exchange program for rebuilt nosegear. Also looking at
offering recovered flight controls (Through Silver), with
next day shipping.

Fly Safe
John Fischer

Hi Christian

Can you provide price information? Possiblt part numbers? It’s the flexible hoses that need to be replaced.
