Whilst adapting my gust lock design for the Yak, I have noticed that some -52's have wingtips while others don't seem to need "no stinking wingtips". Is there any rhyme or reason or was it left to the whims of the Comrade-In-Charge that built these Beasts?

They are after-market add ons. The factory original pre peristroka (sp) YAK does not have wingtips. They are on the 52W’s.

Hi Craig,
I sent you a response to your wingtips question off line..direct to your published email address. I got an auto response saying that I "wasn't on your list" rejecting my response to your question.
I just deal with my spam as it comes...am not real fond of those shotgun auto responders.

Not exactly aftermarket - they were added on the W and TW by Aerostar.
