I was wondering if anybody else has run into this problem? I removed an old 912 (1994) off my model IV, I then removed the old engine mount. I then tried to bolt the top two bars that bolts on the top of the new 912 and the mounts are 1/8 of an inch short? There is no way that I can even get the bolts to line up to start them into the block. It seems funny to me , the bottom two parts of the mount fit into the bottom of the new engine okay? Has anyone else had this problem?

When I changed out my 912UL to the 912ULS in 1999 the front mounts are about
1/8 inch difference. You have to take the mount and make the correction.

John,When I changed out my 912UL for a ULS, I found there were dimensional differences in the mount between the two engines (just as you describe). I also discovered when discussing this with John McBean that these same differences exist between the older and newer 912ULs. I don't remember exactly what I did to make the necessary adjustments, but it wasn't a major problem. I'd talk with John at html://www.sportplanellc.com. His phone number there is listed as 208.337.5111.

Thanks Lyle and Clint for the info. I will cut and sleeve to length then weld the mount. Jim
