Apparently Aircraft Spruce has a new policy for shipping orders via
USPS. In this case (by far the least expensive method of shipping
small orders) they now take two business days to process the order
instead of one. They prepare it on the first day and get it to the
post office on the second day. This is a big reduction in service,
in my experience, since they used to process and ship USPS orders in
the same day up to now.
Perhaps they don't have any competition?

They've probably cut back on staff because we're moving into a long overdue recession.

I placed an order with ACS Sunday night (online). Received it Tuesday morning. (UPS)

To: Zenith Builders
A customer recently posted a comment regarding Aircraft Spruce’s handling of orders shipped by the USPS. We want to assure all of our customers that we have made no policy changes regarding USPS packages. Shipments by UPS, DHL, FedEx, etc., leave our building the same day they are packaged due to the fact the carrier picks up late in the day; conversely, the post office is closed by the time USPS packages are completed each day. Therefore, we have to transport USPS packages to the post office the next morning.
We appreciate the business we receive from the Zenith builders, and if anyone has any questions or suggestions, please contact us at any time.

To whoever wrote the message below, not to worry. Everyone out here in aviation land knows that you guys are the best supply house in the country for airplane builders and restorers. The business Jim Irwin's dad started from scratch reminds me of Wal-mart in this way. You provide goods we need at fair prices and you grow and grow. I really don't see how your competition keeps up with you.

All-
ACS catalog prices are quite reasonable- shipping is what kills you.
I'd love to see ACS follow Wal-Marts lead and have an outlet every 10 miles, but if there were that many builders, there wouldn't be any airspace!
