Any of you folks wanting to see the latest pics on my engine adaptation and some of the problems I am running into take a look at these pics. I already tested the link so it should work.

Roger:
Take the space out of the tiny url just before the ".com"

Or...... http://tinyurl.com/hl2oy

That's the good news... The bad news is when I went, they wanted me to join

Ron,

Had a problem with the url until I noticed that there is a space between the
(dot) and the (com) had to copy and past entire url and delete the space...

http://tinyurl.com/hl2oy

This one should work.

Looks like you are coming along well. What was the deal with the gap in the
bell housing??

I'm using the SPG-2 also; I noticed it looks like you have the 16valve
engine. I'm working with the 8 valve.

Keep us posted.

Are you on the Geo list? I went through the description there already. It looks like the drive shaft coupler is about 3.5 mm too long. I suppose I can force the whole thing shut by torqueing the nuts down on it but I don't want the stress deformation on the BMW rubber donut. So I am going to machine the crown down so it will fit snag and tight but without deforming the rubber donut. Did you have any trouble with your set up?
Also it was a bit of a bear to get the RDU to mate through the studs into the bell housing. I guess the Russians are not known for CNC machining. I got it to fit good but it took some additional machining. Gee wheeze... it never ends......
Just once it would be nice if everything goes along smoothly.

The Tiny url doesn't work. It takes you to a page that asks you to join Yahoo groups. I hate that! Yahoo groups are so much worse than people whining about dial-ups! Waahh! Why doesn't anything ever work right? Waahh!

I'll be watching both you guy's progress with the four bangers. Have
to admit one extra
piston would be nice on my Kolb. And you also confirm reports that
the SPG/russky redrive,
although robust and reliable, is a pain to assemble and fit to the
engine.

Maybe one of these days I'll go the same route. Right now I have
arrived at the stage of
fun flying with confidence in my airplane and want to put some hours
on as is.

Happy knuckle banging and keep up the reports.

Hi Bob
In this day and age one almost does not expect to have such problems in terms of fit and finish. But I think its almost an obligation that we disclose such things to one another, for several reasons. I think we owe it to fellow Kolbers and aviators to get the straight poop, for the old Caveat Emptor and the second if the distributor does not get the feed back from us the consumer he will not change, not that I am expecting Vassily to change. He rather argue about that. My respect to old Kissinger is increasing all the time now.
I guess they don't have CNC out there in Siberia,, yet.. or they got CNC but too much Smirnoff.

I would have liked to see the pictures, but could not see any Sad Once I clicked on the URL, it asked me to log into yahoo, which I did. Then it asked me to join the group, and await for approval, that is when I gave up.

If I have to sign in, sign up to join, then wait for the pictures, its just not worth looking. It would be so much better had you just attached some pictures to your post.

Hi All

May I suggest. When I was on the luscombe list we used a great site built
by a Luscombe pilot called www.popav.com He lets people post pictures to
this site easly and for no cost or advertisements. The Luscombe portion of
the site has over 275 pages of pictures. There is an Experimenal section but
I can talk to him and put a Kolb heading under the type aircraft section and
we can use this for posting. The firat pictures I posted were in 2000 so I
don't think it will go away any time soon. But I also believe that we
should post pictures to the Matronics list for archive purposes. Check out
this Link and let me know what you think. all the pictures are under the
Type Aircraft link on the top menu.

http://www.popav.com

Thank You
