Hi Folks,
I am not a Kitfox operator but I do cruise around reading the other lists from time to time and saw your discussion on the LRI, stall warners, etc. and thought I would bring your attention to a device my company produces.
It's a talking ASI/speed director that can either speak your airspeed or tell you if you are deviating from a chosen target speed. The crucial point about the product is that all the information is delivered audibly through your headphones and so you don't have to look at the ASI at all on approach.
Additionally, it measures the wing loading (acceleration) so that if you pull significant amounts of G (while on approach) it will instantly warn you.
It's not a stall warning system, the best way to think of it is as a "stall margin preserver" - it helps you maintain your speed margin above the stall. Easy to install, just connect to pitot/static and route the audio output into a spare audio input on your radio/intercom.
Anyway, if you want to learn more, please go to www.smartavionics.com.
Cheers,
Mark
