Face-planting a Yak or CJ coming out of the backside of a loop due to FOD flight control lockup would suck, huh?
Hasn't happened for a few years.
= COOLEST way to check for FOD??
Use your digital camera to take a picture of the tailcone and hard to see areas.
Then blow up the picture and see what you can find.
Beer cans, Bikini's, Binoculars.... pull them out.
We can argue about which came first, which is a warbird and which oil additive to not use.... but FOD has to go.
Anybody have any recent FOD finds??

I'm not going to mention any names, but there was a Yak 50 down at my local FBO in for annual. I had witnessed this very airplane aggressively flying dogfights a few weeks prior.
During the annual, the following were removed from the tail:
Metal AA size flashlight
Metal ball point pen
several fuel receipts
and a few other small items that I can't quite recall.
These items were wedged way back in the tail - such that a typical bang on the tail F.O.D. check would not have revealed their presence.
When is the last time you removed a panel to check for F.O.D.?

Another way is to buy a lipstick camera (helmet cam..what ever you want to call it.) and get a small lense for it. You can use your hand and see your FOD inspection in real time.
Or you can buy a FOD kit from someone on here and mitigate part of the problem....but not eliminate the inspection.
