Yak friends…
<![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
We will be holding a “Sport Air Racing League” event in Memphis on Oct 27th. It is a 100 mile race, very similar to the races at SNF and Oshkosh that have developed into quite a race series, with several classes. It is a timed start, fastest airplanes first for safety…
<![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
This should be a fun day with everything from a Sea Fury to a J-3 “racing”. You don’t have to have it in the corner to have a good time. We are expecting at least 25 airplanes…will serve lunch, and then perform a flyover for the “real” race… a “Busch” series race also in Memphis that day…then the third annual Linebaugh Halloween party that night (costumes highly recommended…)
<![if !supportEmptyParas]> <![endif]>
It would be fun to see some RPA aircraft make a showing…anybody?

Jeff

Questions:
Cash and/or merchandise awards? Gas provided? Housing and transpo? Appearance money for "famous luminaries" and winners of the Sport 100 and Sport 60 races at Sun 'n Fun?
Would a Yak-52 even go 100 miles at the 80% power rating? In the same day? Should be a perfect event for nearby Yak-50 owners to show their stuff....

Craig:
I think a 52 can do it. From personal experience it only take 15 fuel stops to fly across the country and from Philly to Jackson Hole is only 11 stops!! However, that was upside down so just imagine what it could do with the dirty side down –
Have fun –
