Didn't see a FF, but there is a Firestar (Item number: 280153702617)  

which is kinda odd; shows a bare cage, tet says it was flying! Shows  

covered tail and wings. price $1950 Buy it Now. Opened at 1550, no bids.

I've never seen an original firestar up close.  The fuselage cage shown on E-bay is very different than the one on my KXP.  Was the original Firestar that different, or is this one modified?

The "contraption" on EBAY being advertised as a Kolb Firestar is not one. 

The only thing Kolb about it is the plans.



Should send the seller a note that he is falsely advertising.



One of the photos is the Kolb Company Firefly.  The pilot is me at Sun and 

Fun, Lakeland.  Forget what year that was.



The guy selling Don G's old Firefly also used file photos of me flying the 

factory Firefly.

I sent the seller a note explaining he did not have a Kolb Firestar for 

sale, only Kolb Firestar plans.

Thanks for the confirmation.  My first inclination was to send the guy a nastygram, but just in case, I thought I would check with the list first.  I was thinking CGS Hawk as well, what with the ugly nose.  They always remind me of an old sore head salmon.  The wing roots in the ad look strange as well. 



Sleep deprived, but enjoying being a dad.

The fuselage is not a Hawk, it looks like chrome-molly.  The Hawk 

fuselage is aluminum tubing.

The wing struts look like a Hawks and the wing to some extent - small 

leading edge and smaller trailing edge tubes.  What was that thing 

that had a steering wheel - Ultra 103 or some thing like that.  Seems 

like I recall it used Hawk like wings.

That sure is he FlagFly on Ebay...WOW..

I traded it to those fellas this spring for the KitFox..which I am enjoying immensely, about 60 hours in 3 months, and Sue has been flying with me too! finally after 28 years!...(as long as we dont care to see in front of us...which she complains about!)



 I just talked to those guys in Tenn a couple of weeks ago and one told me he was enjoying the Kolb....???

Well  who knows...he had alot of time...several thousand hours in DC-3's.... and a piper 140 and a real nice straight tail 172 in the hangar also...maybe he decided the Kolb was just to light for him???



Anyway...John...I got a kick out of those pics of you in the Kolb Demo Fly' mixed in there in the ad...



It seems that he and his partner didnt pay enough attention to my bird to even know what it looked like...or the differences between the 2. I figgered that ugly ole pilot in the demo bird would give it away tho!!!!



I gotta tell you fellas...I really considered Flying down to the Homecoming, as I miss you all.... but figgered I would never live down the razzin from Trav and Donnie about flying a blind kitfox to a Kolb party.

maybe, if I still have it next year...I will get some nerve!



Been thinking about those goodies on the dessert table alot!
