Just a reminder to all you Kitfoxers, the first East Coast Kitfox Gathering 

is scheduled for October 13th & 14th!  day one will be at First Flight and 

day two at Campbell Airfield in Va.

Just wanted to send another reminder.  Hope all can attend.

I live just cross the Carolina Virginia State line but I don't

know where Campbell Airfield is. Can some one tell me?

Looks like it is 9VG in Weirwood, VA northeast of Norfolk, on the 050 

radial of the Cape Charles (CCV) VOR.

Were in PA are you, I flew to Shoestring airfield in PA last month, nice grass fields and a friend has a Kitfox at that field.  Lets meet up and do some PA flying.

located at (P96) which is Jersey Shore, PA  we have 2 kitfoxers there (1) avid and there are a few other guys not far from there that also have kitfoxes.....its a nice over 3000 ft level grass strip kept really good.   North Central PA

just East of Lock Haven , PA (LHV) the piper cub home.and West of Williamport (IPT)  hope this helps , where u located?   I can email too so as not to mess up this site. should be on my signature

Five more days to Kitty Hawk! If you can believe the weather forecast this far out, the gathering is going to coincide with some the best weather we've had in the area for a while.  The synopsis for Saturday on accuweather.com actually reads "Delightful with plenty of sunshine"! I can't remember the last time I saw those words in a weather report. I just hope the crosswinds aren't too bad. Haven't been able to get as much practice in as I would have liked...

A fellow pilot and I will be attending and needing accomodations for Saturday. Hotels nearby?  Are others camping?  Also, someone may have already done this but it would be nice if the FBO at Kitty Hawk would save some spots for us to park together.  Just a thought.

Fantastic Maxwell. There are three hotels within a mile of the First Flight airport (FFA). I was planning on giving them all a call tonight to ask how busy they expect to be. I'll post some more details about hotels later today. If we can get enough people to make reservations, maybe we can get a group rate.



There's no FBO at FFA. There aren't really any facilities at all. In fact, they have anchors in the ground but no ropes so bring your own tie-down rope. Also, there's no fuel so make sure you have at least enough fuel to reach the nearest airport. Dare County Regional (MQI) is only 7nm to the South West so that shouldn't be too hard.

Talked to the Days Inn. According to the desk, they've been full for the past three weekends so I guess anyone that is planning on staying at a hotel needs to make reservations. Here's the price breakdown:
