taxy too fast ........? Pat >>

Pat - Glad to hear your Mark-IIIX is ready to fly again.
Stay away from barns, and watch out for those baggy pockets!

Thanks for the good wishes Dennis.
I am relearning the art of taxying a tail dragger in a straight line. Got
the tail up yesterday and, you wouldn`t believe it, but there is a bump in
the middle of my strip where a hedge was grubbed out and I was accidentaly
nudged into the air. Just for a moment you understand. Actual flying would
be illegal and I wouldn`t want to do that now, would I?

The baggy pockets which I was convinced caused the runaway into the barn,
was aided and abetted by the fact that Jabiru policy is that if something
fails the throttle goes to `Open`. I think the baggy pockets just jogged the
throttle enough for that to happen. Makes me feel a bit better, but not
much. That throttle friction nut is done up good and tight now!

Cheers

Pat
