There were some things to quarrel with Reagan about, but he ended up pretty good. A genuine conservative and I believe a decent man. While totally different, a close second to President Carter.

You mean the guy who brought us 18% mortgage rates?
You mean the guy who threw the Shaw of Iran under the bus resulting in Muslim situation we have today?

Jimmy Carter IMO was the worst president of the 20th century; I was there for his term trying to make mortgage payments with a 15% interest rate. I could go on for some time about all the corn Jimmy cracked, but what’s the use when his mother Lillian said it best:

Steve,
There was a difference between the Carter administration, and the Regan administration from my personal perspective.
At the end of the Carter administration, I was broke, paying 20% interest, and most of my associates were in forclosure.
At the end of the Regan Administration, I was driving a twin engine airplane, running a top fuel dragster, and was debt free. Mr. Carter helped imensly, because most of the competition went broke, and Mr. Regan

Just trying to see if you guys were still awake.......
I know his administration was dissapointing. They made some mistakes. I think he was ahead of the curve on conservation and energy usage. We could have had a 30 year jump on energy usage. Part of the good times may have been trading off what we needed to face into the future.
Too bad Reagan didn't have better health in his older years after his presidency. It might have been a reasonable voice added when we really needed it.
