Hi scrapbuilders,
I notice the 601 XL plans don't show tooling holes in the smaller ribs, i.e., 6-T-3 1, elevator ribs, yet keeping them centred when forming them around blocks is tricky.
I have seen some people drill them, so I assume it's okay. And I know some of you have formed the straight edged ones with the bending brake, but my test pieces on the triangular shapes have so far turned out uneven too.
Any tips?
Thanks, Glenn

A photo will help me to understand your problem.
I don’t do any hole in the ribs when I formed it. I press it with C clamp
and a filing clamp, independently of the size of the ribs. I put C clamp
somewhere that I don’t have to remove it when I formed both side of the
ribs.

For all of my smaller formed pieces on my 701 I've drilled #30 tooling holes through the forming blocks and piece being formed and then used my old #30 drill bits through the holes to keep things aligned. Clamp it in the bench vise and bend the flanges over.
