I have a hard time with being politically correct. (My problem) “Merry Christmas” was good enough for my Grandfathers and my father so It’s good enough for me. It must be something about seeing my name in lights this time every year.

May each and every one of you enjoy a Merry Christmas and a Happy and prosperous New Year.

Good for you, Noel...and I'm right there with ya, seconding the
"Merry Christmas" sentiment.

But just to stay on topic, sort of, I wanted to fly for the last two
days because of the 8-10" of new snow that fell, but alas, my carb is
waiting parts from Bing. What a bummer...skis waiting, but engine had
other ideas...ratz!

I celebrated the 104th anniversary of the Wright Brother's first
flight by getting a fresh BFR this morning in the Turbo Arrow so,
along with the medical certificate I received last month, I'm good
for two more years!

My instructor and I then traded some hood time with each other and we
are both instrument current, too. Smile

Happy Holidays everyone!

Yes, it is interesting to see that in the US one also uses the French name for Christimas - Noel - and the Scandinavian one - Yuletide.

So, Merry (put your favourite holiday's name here) everyone!

To the list,

You have given me much information, pleasure in your camaraderie and a wish
to be part of you in a more factual way.

I to have a hard time with political correctness. It feels to me like
giving up my freedom of speach. My time in Viet Nam earned me all the
freedoms I am entitled to.

With that said I hope this year gives me the financial freedom to purchase
my KF.

I wish all you wonderful people a very Merry Christmas and Happy and
Prosperous New Year.

My roof is pretty flat and there is a good crust on about ten inches of
snow... See you on the 24th. Well spiked eggnog and mince meat pie with
hard rum sauce will be waiting.

I guess that's because most people here came from somewhere else less than five hundred years ago.

I keep being asked if I was a Christmas baby. No, I was born in September but my mother's maiden name was Noel. Her family originally came from the Jersey Islands which are located between England and France. Apparently they have been over run by both English and French forces through history and no one is really sure what their ancestry is. Probably they are Franglophone Smile

The first of my mother's family to actually settle here did so only a few years after discovery of the new world at a time when there were very stringent laws against staying a winter here. The first year one man stayed here alone. The idea was that if he stayed he could be the fishing admiral in his area and all the other captains would have to pay him a royalty to fish in his grounds. He would also be the local magistrate for the next year.

Installed skis today, and still waiting for the big brown truck to
arrive with new needle and seat. If big brown truck doesn't arrive,
will fire up reindeer and see you on your roof...12/24...over and
out. Will leave your place 12 hours after eggnog and pie w/sauce.

My dear Noel, Jersey is a place where they speak Jersais, not a French
dialect but an old language from France, much laced with English. The
islands, together with Guernsey and Alderney, are the old Normandy
islands, conquered by the Vikings then part of the Duché de Normandie.
I visited the islands with my sailboat ten years ago. A beautiful
place. But the tide runs high, as high as 11 meters, only 2 meters less
than the Bay of Fundy - the largest tidal difference in the world ...
but you knew that! Smile

Steve,
Thanks for the welcome, I have actually been around for a while, mostly
lurking. I have been to Lowells 2 of the last 3 years and as he commented I
was supposed to be flying with him on N96KL's last flight. My "Spam Can"
wouldn't start. I guess I should be nice to it as it is what keeps me able
to fly. Smile
Thanks again,
