To all the Kolbers who get to enjoy Monument Valley, the website
Astronomy Picture of the Day has just posted a marvellous view of the
valley at night, might bring back some pleasant memories. Enjoy!

Me too Ron ! The fantastic beauty of nature. Awe inspiring !

Closest I can come to that picture was one I took in the Australian outback on a clear moonless night, I took a time exposure photo of Ayers Rock (that now goes by its aboriginal name of 'Uluru'). It was illuminated my starlight only and even at night the ochre collours of the rock came through. During the shoot, the camera lens was facing South so you could see the arc of the stars caused by the rotation of the Earth. My younger sister, not especially skilled in natural physics, on seeing the print asked me if that's what the stars looked like out in the 'outback'. Still brings a smile to my face. Smile

Now lets see, when's the next unofficial Monument valley fly in ?

David.
