In the Zenith designed latch system we have holes on the inside in case the wire system won't open it so we can open it with a screw driver. What's the plan if the system screws up when we are outside the aircraft?
It's one thing if it happens in you nice warm home base hanger but what about some night when you land at a small unmanned airport for self-serve gas?

Gig, what I did was to drill a hole slightly smaller than 3/8" through the canopy outer flashing similar to the inside safety opening. I tapped it and seal it closed with a hex socket screw and a bit of Loctite. I figure if I'm "malfunctioned" out of the plane I can borrow an allen wrench to get back in. Mybe I should add an allen wrench to my key ring?
