In response to a couple of questions on sealing fuel fittings, here's what I used:
For the pipe threads I used loctite 567. It worked fine. I borrowed it from someone who had done previous research on this; there may be other alternatives.
For sealing the fuel sender I used EZ Turn (its the new name for fuel lube) and I got it from aircraft spruce. I spent several weeks of frustrating testing before trying this stuff and it worked like magic. I'm pretty sure it was recommended by someone in the archives.

That's the stuff (EZTurn) my EAA Tech Counselor told me to use. Another source, a AP/AI confirmed it at the EAA chapter meeting.

Will this stuff work as well. I gulped when i saw the price of $66.14 from MSC. The stuff below is from Wicks
PIPE THREAD SEALANT FUEL RE
Pipe thread sealant with Teflon made by Loctite. O.E.M. specified as 592. Prevents leakage from vibration, temperature cycling and extreme pressures. Protects against rust, corrosion, and galling of threads. Allows respositioning of parts after application.

I also used EZ Turn (fuel lube) on my fuel tank finger screen fitting threads and on the fuel filler threads. It did a great job of sealing the fuel sender on each tank.

That will probably work but it does harden when it cures. If you have to
reposition the fitting after it sets, you will have to disassemble
reapply the compound. See:

Wicks also sells EZ Turn thread sealer for about the same price per

also sells it for a bit less along with a couple of other brands:

Permatex makes a product with similar properties to the Loctite product,
Thread Sealant with PTFE. If you want to save on shipping, the Permatex
and Loctite product are usually available at your local auto parts stores.

I have used "Sealube" from Spruce, extensively, and it seems to work very well. Was recommended by Zenith at the time I purchased my kit. Not cheap, but at $27 is a large can I'll never use a third of and cheaper than the Fuel Lube prices mentioned.

I used Sealube on my side mounted fuel sending units. It was effective for
over a year on 100LL but both sides began to drip after two weeks of
exposure to 93 autofuel. One tank had alchohol and the other did not. Both
appeared to affect the sealer.
Also I noticed that my fuel caps became very hard to open and has not been a
problem since return to 100LL only.
So if you plan to have the flex fuel option maybe a different sealer would
be better. It is a pain in the rear to reseal the senders after the wing is
closed up working thru the access panel and thru a rib cutout. I left a
sample of my DNA in there.

Has anyone used Bakerseal? I'm using this but haven't tested with fuel yet.
