To Lightning Group,
There are several new updates in the owners section for the manual take a look. Also the owners section has a new format wich will allow you to see the most recent updates and determine if you have them or not.
We would also like to announce that on Friday Febuary 1st 2008 Arion Aircraft will be releasing our Lighting Sub kits. This will allow the builder on a budget to buy and build portions of the airframe as they go. Look for a full release and prices on the Web page next friday.
Nick Otterback

Oh boy, first the retractable gear 6 seat Lightning that can hover and now a submersible version!? That's like James Bondish or something. Brian W.

Glad to see the Lightning list guys still have a great sense of humor based on the "Sub" and "Sub sandwich" comments. However what you may not know is that Nick is sometimes dyslexic so the word "sub" becomes "bus" so now the word is out that he is designing the next competitor to the Airbus. One of the initial drawings of the Blended Body Arion Lightning Bus is shown below. Obviously it will be much larger than the current Lightning, but one unique feature that the prototype / proof of concept BB Lightning Bus is that it will have the internal capability to carry two Mini Cooper automobiles (kind of a his and hers set up) and enough internal fuel to fly around the world non stop and then fuel up the Mini Coopers for a drive around the world. Performance numbers are still classified DBR (destroy before reading) but rest assured that it is pretty impressive.
The BB Lightning Bus is kept in their Arion 51 hangar so you may not see it for a while, but word is out that one of the Mini Coopers can be seen almost daily parked in front of their main office.

Drawings shown below indicate a high bypass turbofan however we like the jabiru and will be using 12, 3300 ducted fan units which should provide ample thrust and fuel econemy...so to speak....
