Just Kidding! A two or three piece rod should fit ok in the rear baggage area.

I'm thinking M-80's will work just fine. They are small and no modification to the RV is required.

I used to fish with M-80's, too Wink when we could get them from South Carolina. I seem to recall they were sold "under the counter" at certain fireworks stands along the highway to Florida, and my Dad had to pay premium price for them. Those were the days.

Remove wingtip. Pass loose fitting capped pvc thinwall into a series of lightening holes spanwise. JB weld in place. Make darn sure this contraption does not come near your aileron pushrod stuff! Just an idea. Might also be able to sling it out of the way aft of the baggage bulkhead with same considerations for the elevator push tubes.

Consulting the builder (Rick) might be wise.

Hi Jim. Tad and I have been working together on my RV-10 project for more than a year, and neither one knew until today that the other one was interested in fly fishing. Maybe he and I should talk about something other than flying sometime while we're working... Anyhow, the 10 should be flying within a month or so, and I'd be interested in this fly-fishing trip that's taking shape. I'm currently based at RUQ. Scott Keadle
[quote="tadsargent(at)bellsouth.n"]Jim fly fishing is a hobby of mine as well. I would like to join you on a TN. trip or NC excursion.

Hi Ron. I've been flying a Titan Tornado the last couple of years, just
got my new 7 (purchased from Rick Gray in Ohio) a few months ago, and
loving it. Painting is scheduled in a few months. I have no experience
with formation, and just a little bit of aerobatics (loops/rolls). I
would be interested in ALL aspects of flying, and always looking to
learn more.
Also, in case anybody cares, I'm an avid fly fisherman, that's my other
hobby, and plan on flying up to Elizabethton, TN on occasion to soak a
couple of flies.

Stormy,

It frightens me how much we think alike. How is it you went on to Med school and I went on to detention?

Alright! Let's do this! It should be fun. 45 minutes from Charlotte by
plane or 3-1/2 to 4 hrs by car. Sounds like flying would be better.
We'll work on details when it starts getting warmer. Good luck with your
10 in the coming weeks.

Fly Fishing! I'm another one here in NC. I'm flying a Maule out of
Lake Ridge in Durham (weekly into Lake Norman Airpark up until 3 or 4
years ago). Also building a '10 #40605.

I'm a trout guy in long term withdrawal. My last line wetting was my
first saltwater off Montauk... the '10 would have made it a much shorter
journey.

Anyway, just wanted to say Hi. I will have to try and join up on one of
these lunch trips if you'll welcome a rag tail, hard wing, glass cowl,
butt dragging throwback from Moutrie to tag along.

Sounds good to me. I'm currently flying a plastic airplane. Total blasphemy...

Pretty sure I'm headed down to Boynton Beach Florida Saturday morning, otherwise would plan on being there. Will catch up soon and plan a flying-fly-fishing trip. Sounds like it is generating some interest. We may need Smokey to help put the forest fire out if Stormy and Bill follow through with their bombing plans. Scott

Have fun guy. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it. I sent the
P-mags in for a software and hardware upgrade and they just shipped this
afternoon so I don't expect to see them until next week, my choice not
E-mag Air's.

FYI - If any of you are running E or P-mags, contact Brad regarding the
upgrade. It turns out they expoxied the trigger magnet to the shaft and
these have had a high failure rate. They can machine your shaft (that's
on the mag Ben so don't go getting excited on us) and attach the magnet
with a brass holder and screws.
