Anyone interested in another East coast Kitfox gathering? The last gathering at Kitty Hawk was a great experience and I’m itching to do it again. I have two places in mind as candidate destinations but I’m sure that there will be more.

1) Campbell Field (9VG). This was on the short list of destinations last time and some of us had planned on visiting after gathering at Kitty Hawk but it didn’t work out in the end. You can check them out here: http://www.campbellfieldairport.com/

2) High Valley Resort. http://www.campbellfieldairport.com/

Both destinations have their own advantages. Campbell field looks like the more aviation oriented of the two but High Valley has better accommodations (log cabins, bungalows, club house, etc).

I’m thinking that we should aim for some time March before it gets too hot and hazy.

We made four trips to High Valley Resort last year! We live in Mobile, AL and it is a reasonable distance for us. Great folks up there. We are very close to them (personally) and would be happy to help facilitate a gathering at High Valley.

Thanks for the offer. High Valley was my personal preference. I imagined an overnight stay in one of their little bungalows and maybe grilling some burgers with beautiful mountain views in the background. So far, I've been contacted by two others who are interested in Campbell Field with a third who's on the fence. I'm happy to go wherever.

If the gathering ends up happening at Campbell Field, I'll probably still want to do a day trip out to High Valley this year so maybe we can coordinate...

Campbell Field sounds like a wonderful place. However, we would have to decline. For us that would be a 900 mile flight. Our available time would be a little short for that long of a flight. I do think that I would like to see Campbell Field one day!

The web site for High Valley Resort is: www.highvalleyresort.com

We had a great food flight today! ...I'm ready to relax!
