Guys,
I just had my gear actuators overhauled, new gear hoses built, and my air bottles hydro-tested by Jill and the folks at M-14P, Inc (www.m-14p.com)
The workmanship, price and turn-around time were all top-notch.
I HIGHLY recommend these folks for any Yak parts/work.

Steve, How much did they charge you to do that work. Not counting shipping .

Mine were done (Yak-50) and I want to say around $600.00...it was a bit more but I cannot remember exactly what it was.
They found a crack in one of the end caps so the job was finished elsewhere after new caps being machined...which are a billion times better than the Russian ones.

Are you referring to actuators? I thought it was you end cap for the tail
wheel shock absorber that you had to have a new end cap machined for? My
question is how is it holding up mating stainless steel to aluminum threads
on the shock absorber body?

The tailwheel actuator end cap was replaced and done so in the nick of time. Had I waited any longer, I would have had big problems.
I also had new FWD end caps made on the mains. One had been JB welded by the previous owner and it finally failed and started to leak. The boys in AZ machined two new ones for me and they are NICE!

Tim and other 50 drivers,
I don't think the 50's actuators differ from the Yak 18, I discovered that the main gear actuator on the 18 is the same as the nose gear actuator on the CJ6 except for the placement of the diverter valve.
I stock the US made 4140 end caps which come with the new bearings pressed in. I also have most if not all of the proper square cut 0 rings. Round profile 0 rings will work but not as long or as well as the square cut 0 rings.
